MJC of Cavaillon: culture, sport and leisure in the heart of the city

In Cavaillon, the Maison des Jeunes et de la Culture (MJC) is a must-visit place to meet up, learn, create and unwind. As a non-profit community education association (French law 1901) approved by the Vaucluse Departmental Directorate for Youth, Engagement and Sports, it offers a lively and accessible programme all year round, for all ages.

Shows, concerts, exhibitions, workshops, sports and creative activities: above all, the MJC is a place for connection and personal fulfilment, where everyone can find their place, discover a new passion or simply share a friendly moment.

Le Grenier: the MJC’s performance venue

At the heart of the MJC, Le Grenier is the performance venue that hosts a large part of its events. Created in 1993, this flexible space offers real closeness to the artists and an intimate atmosphere, ideal for enjoying a concert or show "up close".

Throughout the season, the MJC offers an accessible and friendly programme, inviting young and old alike to come together for a wide variety of cultural events: music, theatre, young audiences, festive gatherings, family events, exhibitions, and more.

Concerts & music nights

• Saturday 24 January - ABBA Tribute - Story Tribute for ABBA
  a disco-pop, intergenerational night celebrating the Swedish band’s greatest hits.
• Saturday 7 February - Judas Priest Tribute - Turbolover
  Heavy metal tribute, powerful riffs and raw energy.
• Saturday 28 March - Green Duck - St Patrick’s Night
  An “Irish pub” vibe and festive music.

Shows & theatre

• Sunday 8 March - Facettes - Black Heels
  A cabaret/heels show for International Women’s Rights Day, with a solidarity element.
• Tuesday 5 May - Méli Mélo in Marseille - MJC Theatre Workshop "La Posada de Don Quixote"
  A fast-paced comedy in the style of commedia dell’arte, full of mix-ups and humour.
• Sunday 21 June - Boum Boom – The children’s disco
  A joyful, interactive and high-energy kids’ dance party!

Young audiences festival: "Éveil!"

Friday 20 and Saturday 21 March
For the first edition of Éveil, and for two days, the MJC turns into a festival and offers shows, a concert, workshops and entertainment to help families discover culture together.
On the programme in particular: Pratique de l’envol /  Zikotempo / The Beatles, my first concert / La Boum Éveil

Comedy Festival 

From Monday 18 to Saturday 23 May
The MJC also organises a much-anticipated classic: the Cavaillon Comedy Festival. A week full of good vibes, shows and friendly moments, with several events held at different venues.
For its 34th edition, the festival welcomes : Yves Pujol, Vincent Seroussi, Rudy Goddin, Daniel Rabier, Anthony Kavanagh, not forgetting the comedy talent contest.

Exhibitions

The MJC also hosts exhibitions throughout the season:

• La vie en bleu (from 6 January to 28 February), focusing on cyanotype (R.I.R.E photo club).
• Pêle mêle (from 3 March to 30 April): a photography exhibition by Éric Napoléone.
• Création MJC (from 1 to 30 June): showcasing workshops and members’ work, focusing on visual arts and creativity.
