In the heart of the Luberon Regional Natural Park, the Gordes by bike route takes you along pleasant small roads between hilltop villages, vineyards, olive groves, lavender fields and outstanding panoramic views. This waymarked route no. 33 reveals an authentic, mineral and luminous Provence, where heritage blends with the beauty of the landscape.
Lovers of historic villages and cycling adventures will find a particularly rich area to explore. From Gordes to Ménerbes, via Joucas, Goult, Murs or Old Oppède, the route crosses iconic and more discreet villages, all immersed in the unique atmosphere of the Luberon.
With loops from 15 to 69 km and a positive elevation gain of around 1100 m, this route notably connects Gordes, Ménerbes, Joucas, Murs, Goult, Saint-Pantaléon, Robion and Cabrières-d’Avignon.
The Gordes by bike route takes you through the most beautiful landscapes and villages of the Luberon.
The best time to explore Gordes by bike is from March to June and from September to mid-November. Temperatures are milder and the Luberon landscapes particularly bright.
In summer, high temperatures and significant elevation gain make the route more demanding. It is recommended to set off early in the morning and choose shorter loops according to your level.
