Moulin du Clos des Jeannons in Gordes, AOP olive oil tastings and local produce shop

At the foot of Gordes, on the road to Saint-Pantaléon, Moulin du Clos des Jeannons invites you to discover an authentic Provence shaped by dry-stone walls, olive groves and family-run know-how passed down through generations.

Founded in the early 2000s by the Horard family, the mill is both an olive oil producer and workshop, as well as a place to visit and a shop dedicated to Provençal flavours and well-being.

3 good reasons to visit Moulin du Clos des Jeannons

  • Taste olive oils produced and bottled on site, including a Provence PDO olive oil
  • Discover a family-run olive mill in a typical setting, near the Village of Bories, with tastings and a shop

A family story deeply rooted in Gordes

André Horard, a local native from a family of farmers spanning several generations, chose to transform the family farm by converting vineyards and cherry trees into olive groves.
Moulin du Clos des Jeannons was born from this passion for olives and the local terroir. Today, Guillaume Horard carries on the adventure with the same commitment: producing olive oils with character and welcoming visitors in a simple, warm-hearted spirit.

Olive oil producers in Gordes: 27 hectares and more than 6,000 olive trees

The estate cultivates around 6,000 olive trees across 27 hectares, with a strong focus on the aglandau variety, emblematic of Provence. Other varieties complete the olive grove, ensuring oils that meet the strict requirements of the Provence PDO olive oil designation.

Four olive oils, four distinct personalities

Provence PDO olive oil, green fruity

A fresh, herbaceous olive oil made from green olives harvested early in the season. It offers fine intensity with a slight bitterness on the finish.

Tradition, intense flavour

Green and aromatic, with notes of artichoke and pepper. A powerful olive oil, perfect with grilled vegetables, pasta or fresh cheese.

Subtle flavour, ripe fruity

Softer and produced later in the season, with notes of avocado and dried fruits. Ideal for dressings, fish, salads and steamed vegetables.

Old-fashioned taste, black fruity

An olive oil with a distinctive profile, marked by notes of black olives and tapenade. A truly Provençal gourmet experience, best enjoyed on toasted bread or with ratatouille.

A local produce shop: artisanal grocery and Provençal specialties

The visit continues in the shop, where you will find:

  • a selection of honeys, notably from Lauris and Gordes
  • Mediterranean specialties such as tapenade and chickpea spread
  • preserved truffles, pâtés, sauces, wines and gift ideas

Moulin du Clos des Jeannons also offers a range of well-being products: lip balms, serums, dry oils, shampoos, moisturising creams, body lotions and soaps… A lovely way to combine local flavours and well-being, and a perfect souvenir to take home from your stay in the Luberon.

Mill visit and tasting: an experience not to be missed

Moulin du Clos des Jeannons is open to visitors and welcomes you for:

  • self-guided individual visits (available at all times)
  • guided tours on request
  • a free individual tasting to explore the different olive oil profiles

Groups can also be welcomed on request (self-guided or guided visits), with a group tasting offered according to the mill’s terms and conditions.

And to extend the experience, take advantage of the surrounding area for a walk: the site is set in a peaceful countryside environment, ideal for leisurely strolls among olive groves and dry-stone landscapes.
