All Saints' Day offers the Luberon its most beautiful autumnal hues, transforming its landscapes into veritable natural works of art. If you're looking for an exceptional holiday destination, here are five excellent reasons to choose the Luberon for your autumn getaway.
The Luberon is decked out in warm, golden colours during All Saints' Day. The leaves on the trees put on their autumn mantle, creating an enchanting visual spectacle. Set off to explore the wonderful landscapes of the Luberon and Monts de Vaucluse and discover some hidden treasures.
Contemplate the village of Gordes at sunset. A timeless moment awaits you in this perched village, listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France. Heart-warming colours... If you have a little time, don't miss the atmosphere of the Abbaye-Notre-Dame de Sénanque for a special moment of calm and history.
This is the ideal time to explore the Luberon vineyards: immerse yourself in the unique soul of Château la Verrerie. Let yourself be guided through the estate, discovering its vineyards and its vinification and ageing cellars. Finally, taste its organic wines in the cellar. A moment out of time. There is a charge for this activity, which must be booked in advance. Please contact the winery.
Hiking at this time of year promises an explosion of colour! The leaves are dressed in their autumn colours of yellow, orange, brown and red. From any of our villages, you can stroll through the Luberon and the Monts de Vaucluse, passing through landscapes of forest, limestone cliffs and cedar trees on a variety of signposted footpaths that will guide you... Whether you're an experienced hiker or not, we have walks and circuits to suit all levels and tastes... It's the perfect time of year to make some wonderful memories in the Luberon, with its unforgettable flora and fauna.
Take a stroll in the Cedar Forest: an outing in the fresh air surrounded by cedars to enjoy the peace and quiet... Breathe, enjoy... A relatively flat botanical trail (3km, approx. 1? hours) will enable you to discover the wealth of local flora and fauna (garrigue, cedar grove), the main species of which are signposted along the way. An experience to share with the whole family.
Destination Luberon takes you on a walk around Saumane de Vaucluse to discover a picturesque and authentic itinerary based on the theme of dry stone. You'll discover a rich natural and historical heritage and one of the jewels of the region: the Château de Saumane. If you're a keen sportsman, there are two gourmet hikes on the programme: truffle hikes on 25 November and wine hikes on 9 December. Please note that these hikes are only available by reservation.
The Luberon is a great place for exploring the region's varied landscapes and villages by bike. Getting around by bike means taking your time and soaking up this beautiful region in a different way, between cliffs, garrigues, flamboyantly coloured vineyards, ochre (...).
Discover the Gordes à Vélo route and marvel at the villages of Gordes, Murs and Joucas in the heart of the Monts de Vaucluse: a trip along the back roads offers breathtaking panoramas, punctuated by bories and old mills, a journey through history and the beauty of the countryside.
The Parc Naturel Régional du Luberon also offers many other itineraries to suit all levels! Experienced sports enthusiasts and beginners alike can enjoy the destination to the full.
