Event 2026 World Cup Final

The World Cup final is that special moment when everyone suddenly becomes a coach, assistant referee and tactical expert from their café seat. Predictions fly, terraces fill up and the last match of the tournament can turn a quiet evening into a huge collective celebration.

In Destination Luberon, you do not need a stadium ticket to soak up the atmosphere. Several cafés, brasseries and screening venues welcome you to watch the final in a friendly setting. And for those who love the Luberon but are slightly less enthusiastic about football, there are plenty of other ways to enjoy the end of the tournament. Evening tours before the final, followed a few days later by an evening among the vines at sunset… here, everyone can choose their own playing field.

Team experiences After the defeat, see the glass as half full

Les Bleus are out, but there is still plenty to enjoy in the Luberon

France will not be playing in the World Cup final. A disappointment for the fans, certainly, but no reason to keep replaying the match for days. In the Luberon, there is another way to recover from the emotion: step outside and head back into the vineyards.

Lift your spirits at sunset with the Sunsets Vignerons

Walk through the vineyards during the Sunsets Vignerons en Luberon

On Tuesday 21 July from 6.30 pm, the Sunsets Vignerons en Luberon invite lovers of wine, beautiful scenery and friendly evenings to gather at several wine estates.

The evening includes a walk through the vineyards at sunset, a chance to meet the winemakers, a tour of the cellar and a tasting based on the theme of cured meats and cheeses.

France may not be lifting the trophy, but everyone can still raise a glass against the beautiful backdrop of the Luberon.

On the menu

An evening of cured meats and cheeses

The estates’ wines will be tasted alongside a selection of cured meats and cheeses chosen to complement the different wines served during the evening.

Good to know

Wear flat, closed-toe shoes so that you can enjoy the walk through the vineyards comfortably. Booking is compulsory and places are limited.

Two guided evening tours to discover the Luberon differently

Round sun setting over the Luberon

If you prefer narrow streets to stadium stands, stars to floodlights and heritage stories to football commentary, these summer tours are made for you. Not keen on analysing the match until the final whistle? Enjoy the gentle summer evenings of the Luberon instead.

Before the final, two guided evening tours await you: a night of stargazing in Lourmarin and a walk through the streets of Gordes after dark.

Two ideas for an evening out before the final:

Wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking. Booking is compulsory and the tours are subject to favourable weather conditions.

So, how will you experience the end of this World Cup?

You can watch the final on screen, discuss the match over a drink and enjoy the atmosphere until the final whistle… but you can also add some different Luberon experiences to the closing days of the World Cup: evening tours before the final or an evening among the vines a few days later.

France will not be on the pitch, but there are still plenty of opportunities to share a memorable moment. With or without football, in the heart of a village or at a wine estate, everyone can choose their own programme.

Practical information: booking is compulsory for the summer tours and the Sunsets Vignerons. For the final, contact the venues and organisers directly to confirm the screening, times and access arrangements.
