Activities for children

In August, family holidays in the Luberon are all about enjoying the great outdoors while also finding ways to escape the heat. Children can experiment with pigments, discover the secrets of lavender, solve puzzles or enjoy an adventure high up in the trees.

Here are five activities to enjoy with children in the Luberon during the school holidays!

Planning family activities in August

In Provence, temperatures can be high during the hottest part of the day. To make the most of your family holiday, alternate between different types of outings and activities:

  • In the morning: a treetop adventure course, a walk or a treasure hunt through a village;
  • During the hottest hours: a museum, a creative workshop or an indoor action game;
  • In the late afternoon: a walk, a village tour or a sensory activity.

Advance booking is strongly recommended for workshops, sports activities and team games. Remember to check age and height restrictions, opening times and any equipment required directly with each activity provider.
