The typicity of Luberon wines
The grape varieties of the Luberon: Syrah, Grenache Noir, Carignan, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Grenache Blanc, Vermentino, Ugni Blanc, Clairette, Bourboulenc.
Production of the 3 colors on more than 3,000 hectares of vines located on the flanks and the foothills of the Luberon massif. The southernmost terroir in the Rhône Valley.
Here, the vines are located at an altitude of between 200 and 450 meters. The terroir is rich, with Miocene sands in the country of Aigues, limestone scree at the foot of the mountain, and this red clay specific to the surroundings of Apt. The mountainous presence favors high thermal amplitudes, which safeguard the bite of red wines, and allow a significant production of whites. It is this thermal amplitude that reveals all the aromas of Luberon wines.
This terroir reveals its full potential through a heterogeneous production of 117,000 hectoliters of red (23%), rosé (54%) and white (23%) wines.
